What's next for Storyvote: our roadmap
Storyvote already covers the whole planning poker round: create a room, share the link, vote in secret, reveal together and save the estimate. Here is what we're working on next, and the principles every new feature follows.
Bring stories in, get estimates out
- CSV import. Paste or upload a list of stories with their ticket keys instead of typing them one by one.
- Export results. Download the session's stories and saved estimates as CSV, or copy them to the clipboard, ready for your tracker or a spreadsheet.
- Issue tracker integrations. Import stories from Jira, Azure DevOps, Linear or GitHub and send the agreed estimates back. Connecting a tracker will be optional: if you don't, Storyvote never touches your backlog, just as today.
Estimate across time zones
- Async voting. Open a round and let everyone vote within a time window, so a distributed team doesn't need to share a call. Votes stay hidden until the round closes.
- Reminders to tell teammates a round is waiting for their vote.
Run smoother sessions
- Discussion timer. A visible timebox for talking a story through, so one debate doesn't take over the whole meeting.
- Reactions. Quick emoji reactions during the reveal, for teams that like a bit of fun with their estimates.
- Story notes. Capture the key point of a discussion, such as an assumption or a risk, next to the estimate.
- Drag to reorder stories in the stories panel.
Keep and learn from your estimates
- Session summary. A one-page summary when the session ends: every story, its votes, the agreed estimate and the total.
- Optional history. Let a room stay available for longer, so the team can come back to it. Rooms that don't opt in are still deleted when they end, or after 7 days.
- Team insights. How often the team reaches consensus, which stories caused the biggest spread of votes, and how estimates add up across sessions.
Fit into your team's tools
- Public API. Create rooms and read results from your own scripts and bots.
- Chat notifications. Post a session summary to a Slack or Microsoft Teams channel.
- Retrospectives. A simple retro board with the same no-sign-up approach: share a link and start.
Exploring: AI assistance
We're looking at AI features, such as summarising a story's discussion or suggesting an estimate based on similar stories. They would mean sending room content to an AI provider, so they would only ever be opt-in, and only after we've updated our Privacy Policy to say exactly what is sent and where.
What stays the same
- Storyvote is free. Every new feature is free for everyone, with no paid plan and no limits. Here's why.
- Joining stays instant. Teammates join with a link and a name, without creating an account.
- Data stays minimal. Anything that stores more, or shares data with another service, is opt-in, and the Privacy Policy is updated first.
- No ads and no tracking. New features don't bring third-party scripts.
- Simple first. Starting a session should always take under a minute. Features that get in the way of that won't ship.
Tell us what to build first
This roadmap has no dates, and the order isn't fixed: what gets built first depends on what teams ask for. Which of these would help your team most? Is something missing? Write to storyvoteapp@gmail.com. We read everything.
Everything that exists today is free. Create a room, share the link, and start estimating in under a minute.
