Terms of Service

These terms explain how you may use Storyvote. Please read them; by creating or joining a room you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Storyvote ("we", "us") is provided as a free online service. You can reach us at storyvoteapp@gmail.com.

Storyvote is a non-commercial project run by Daniel Grynyk, a private individual in Poland.

2. The service

Storyvote is an online planning poker tool. It lets you create rooms, invite others with a link, add stories, vote with cards, reveal the votes together and save estimates. There are no accounts: you take part under a display name you choose.

3. It's free

Storyvote is free of charge. There are no fees, paid plans, trials or in-app purchases, and we won't start charging for Storyvote.

4. What you need

A device with an internet connection and a current version of a modern browser (such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) with JavaScript and cookies enabled.

5. Starting and stopping

Our agreement starts when you create or join a room, and it lasts as long as you use Storyvote. You can stop at any time simply by leaving; there is nothing to cancel. A room's data is deleted when the host ends the session, or 7 days after the room was last used, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. We may also discontinue Storyvote; if we do, we'll announce it on the site in advance where we can.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• post unlawful content, or content that harasses, threatens or discriminates against others;
• enter confidential business information, or sensitive personal data such as health data, in room names or stories;
• try to break, overload or bypass the security of Storyvote, including guessing room codes or passwords;
• use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access Storyvote;
• impersonate others or use Storyvote to send spam or malware.

7. Your content

You keep all rights to what you enter in Storyvote. You allow us to store it and show it to the other participants of the room only so that we can run the service. You're responsible for what you enter, and the host decides who receives the room's invitation link.

8. Reporting illegal content

If you see content on Storyvote that you believe is illegal, email storyvoteapp@gmail.com with the room code, a description of the content and why you believe it is illegal. We'll review reports promptly and may remove the content or end the room. You can write to us in English or Polish.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Storyvote running smoothly but can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may improve, change or remove features, for example to keep the service secure. Don't rely on Storyvote as the only place you keep your estimates.

10. Liability

Storyvote is provided free of charge and "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, lost data or decisions you make based on estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for damage caused intentionally, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Problems and feedback

If something doesn't work as it should, email storyvoteapp@gmail.com with a description of the problem and, if relevant, the room code. We'll do our best to respond within 14 days.

12. Intellectual property

The Storyvote name, logo, design and software belong to us. You may use Storyvote as described in these terms, but you may not copy, modify or redistribute the service itself.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We'll publish the new version here and announce significant changes on the site at least 14 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with the changes, stop using Storyvote.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Polish law. This doesn't take away the protection of mandatory laws of the country where you live. Disputes are resolved by the courts that have jurisdiction under the law.
